MUNCIE, Ind. - After a dominating offensive showing this past weekend, Ball State women's volleyball senior middle hitter Lisa Scott (McLean, Va./Langley/Maryland) has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week.
In BSU's two matches last weekend, Scott turned in the best weekend of her brief Ball State career, as she blasted 35 kills and hit .567 in matches against Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan.
In BSU's match against CMU, Scott posted a then-career-high 17 kills on 28 swings with just one error for a .571 hitting mark. She also tallied a match-best five total blocks in the contest.
Against EMU, Scott did one better, posting a career-high 18 kills and hitting .562 with no errors on 32 swings. She also threw up a match-best four blocks, including three solo stuffs.
Overall, Scott recorded just one hitting error on 60 swings over the weekend. With her combined effort over the two matches, Scott raised her season attack average to .348 which ranks second in the MAC, while her .430 mark in league-only matches leads the conference.
Scott and the Ball State women's volleyball team return to action Friday, when they host Kent State in a 7 p.m. cross-division showdown at Worthen Arena.
