Women's Golfers Enjoying Successful Summer

Two members of the Ball State women's golf team - Meghan Perry and Autumn Duke - placed in the top 20 at the 2012 Indiana Women's Golf Association State Amateur Championships, while graduate assistant coach and Ball State alum Rachael Pruett tied for 15th.

Ball State's two Canadian natives of the women's golf team - Sarah Westaway and Jenna Hague - placed in the top 22 at the Investors Group Women's Amateur Championship in Canada.

At the IWGA State Amateur, Perry tied for 12th after posting a77-78-76=231, while Duke tied for 20th after carding an 80-79-76=235.  Pruett managed a 79-82-71=232.

At the Canadian Women's Amateur Championships, Westaway tallied an 81-74-73=228 to tie for 16th, while Hague carded an 85-74-72=231 to tie for 22nd.

In addition, Pruett, a 2011 graduate of Ball State, qualified for the U.S. Golf Association Women's Amateur Championships.  She qualified out of the Indianapolis, Ind., sectional qualifier at Broadmoor Country Club with a 75.  The U.S. Women's Amateur Championships are Aug. 6-12 at The Country Club in Cleveland, Ohio.
