Leonard and Albertin Receive All-MAC Honors

MUNCIE, Ind. - Ray Leonard and Dalton Albertin of the Ball State men's tennis team have earned All-Mid-American Conference accolades, the announcement was made by the league office this morning in Cleveland.

Leonard, a true freshman for the Cardinals was named First Team All-MAC.  He led the team with an overall mark of 26-14, a 19-9 dual record and went 3-2 in MAC action.  Leonard recently earned a 2-0 record at No. 1 singles at the MAC Tournament beating Toledo and Buffalo.  He started the season off playing at No. 2 singles and ended the year at position one.  Leonard also played at No. 1 doubles and earned MAC Player of the Week honors twice this season.

Albertin received All-MAC Second Team honors for the first time in his career.  He was named to the 2011 All-MAC First Team and the 2010 All-MAC Tournament team.  Albertin played the majority of the season at No. 1 singles and paired up with Leonard at No. 1 doubles earning a 4-0 mark in MAC action.  He was a MAC Player of the Week recipient for the second time in his career this season.

The Ball State men's tennis team ended its season in the MAC Tournament semifinals last week after suffering a 4-3 loss to Buffalo.  The event was hosted by Toledo.
