Ball State's women's golf team is in first place at the Mid-American Conference Golf Championships at the Hawthorns Golf and Country Club in Fishers, Ind., after the first round of play.
Katie Windlan, the lone senior member of the Ball State women's golf team, tallied a first round 73 and is tied for second.
Jenna Hague is tied for fourth after posting a first-round 74, while Autumn Duke is tied for seventh with a 75. Zoe Camus is the fourth member of the Cardinals in the top 10 and is tied for ninth after carding a 76. Meghan Perry is tied for 23rd with a first round 80.
The Cardinals managed a first round team total of 298, while defending champion Kent State is in second with a 301. Toledo is in third with a 304 and Eastern Michigan is fourth with a 310.
The second 18 holes will begin Saturday with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m., while Sunday will be the final round with 8:30 tee times.
