Ball State Hosts Two Mid-American Conference Matches This Weekend:  The Cardinals will host Western Michigan Friday at 1 p.m. and then Bowling Green on Saturday also beginning at 1 p.m. for this week's Mid-American Conference action.  The matches will be played at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center, weather permitting if inclement weather were to occur the matches will be played indoors at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.  Ball State enters the weekend with an overall mark of 5-11.  The Cardinals are currently 0-4 in the MAC.

Wild Wins Both MAC Matches Last Weekend:  True freshman Courtney Wild went undefeated in MAC singles action after posting a 6-4, 6-4 straight set victory over Nino Mebuke of Eastern Michigan Friday evening in Ypsilanti.  Wild also defeated Toledo's Kelsey Anonsen,  7-6 (2-0), 6-7 (0-5), 10-4 Saturday in Toledo, Ohio.  Wild won both her matches at No. 1 singles, improving her overall record to 17-10 including fall play and 10-6 in the spring.  She also owns a 2-2 league record.

2011-12 Recruiting Class Earns National Ranking:  Under the guidance of second-year head coach Christine Bader, the Ball State women's tennis program's recruiting class was ranked No. 18 in NCAA Division I by for the 2011-12 class. The Cardinals signed Ashlyn Rang and Courtney Wild for the 2011-12 season.  Ball State (18) joins Miami (7) as the only schools from the Mid-American Conference that was nationally ranked.  BSU was ranked above Montana, Wofford, Charlotte, Johns Hopkins, Houston, Gonzaga and UMass.  BSU was also the lone school from the state of Indiana to earn a top-25 ranking.

As coaches we saw improvements in our doubles performance last weekend against Toledo. We came out with intensity and energy.
