Women's Tennis Earns 6-1 Win at Butler

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team earned a 6-1 defeat over in-state rival Butler Wednesday afternoon.  With the win the Cardinals are now 5-5 on the season.

The Cardinals took the early 1-0 edge over the Bulldogs after winning the doubles point.  On court two Sarah Hebble and Ashlyn Rang paired up to defeat Brittany Farmer and Cam Thompson by a score of 8-2.  The Ball State twosome of Dena Boulieris and Lauren Pickrel beat Angelina Quin and Ashley Breitenback 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.

Ball State went on to win five out of the six singles matches for the victory.  Kyle Johnson, Sarah Hebble and Lauren Pickrel all were victorious in straight sets while Courtney Wild and Kristel Sanders both won in three.

The Ball State women's tennis team continues non-conference action Wednesday in Florida against James Madison at 11 a.m.
