DAYTON, Ohio - The Ball State men's tennis team improved to 9-2 on the season Sunday afternoon after posting a 6-1 victory over Lipscomb.
The Cardinals began the morning finishing their match with Air Force. Ball State entered doubles play up 5-1 over the Falcons after singles action Saturday night, the Cardinals would end up winning on court one after Dalton Albertin and Derek Carpenter took down Lance Wilhelm and Grant Taylor by a score of 8-6. Ball State was also victorious at No. 3 doubles allowing the Cardinals to win the doubles point and the match, 6-1.
In the afternoon match against Lipscomb, Ball State headed into singles play with a 1-0 advantage over Lipscomb after sweeping all three doubles matches. Freshman Ray Leonard, senior Zane Smith, sophomore Austin Smith and freshman Patrick Elliott all won their respective matches in straight sets while Albertin won at No. 1 singles in three.
The Ball State University men's tennis team will host a double-header Friday against Eastern Illinois and Indiana Tech beginning at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
