MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team won its double-header Sunday at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center after beating Illinois State (4-3) and Anderson (7-0).
With the victories the Cardinals improve their overall record this spring to 6-2 on the season.
Ball State headed into singles action in both matches today with a 1-0 edge over its opponents after winning both the doubles points.
Against Illinois State the Cardinals managed to escape the Redbirds after Ray Leonard captured a straight set defeat on court two over Tuomas Manner, 6-3, 6-1. Zane Smith and Austin Smith both pulled out their victories after three sets.
Ball State closed the day out against Anderson University where they would sweep doubles and singles for the win.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues spring action against Army Saturday at 12 p.m. in Dayton, Ohio.
