MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team (4-0) hosts the University of Chicago Friday, for its Breast Cancer Awareness match at 6 p.m. in the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. The Cardinals then travel to in-state rival Big Ten foe Indiana, Saturday.
"We are looking to make another jump in our level of play this Friday, against the University of Chicago," said Ball State head women's tennis coach Christine Bader. "The team is hungry to keep improving and get ready for the Mid-American Conference season. This Friday is also our annual Breast Cancer Awareness Match. The team will be wearing pink shirts to honor Christine (Sipos) Pratt who passed away from Breast Cancer. Pratt was an accomplished woman and tennis player. Her brother, Michael Sipos is a dear friend of the program. After Friday's match we have our first away contest against Indiana. This is a talented squad and I have a great deal of respect for their coaches, Lin Loring and Ramiro Azcui. We are looking forward to a feisty and competitive match."
The Cardinals will be selling t-shirts designed by freshman Courtney Wild for $10.00 at the match. All proceeds from this event will go to the Christine Pratt Memorial Fund Endowment of the Livestrong Foundation.
