Football's MiQuale Lewis Granted Additional Season
MiQuale Lewis, a member of the Ball State University football team, has been granted an additional season of competition by the Mid-American Conference under NCAA Bylaw14.2.4.
Lewis, an H-Back for the Cardinals, received the waiver for the 2007 season. In his second year of eligibility in 2007, Lewis started the first four games before suffering a knee injury at Nebraska. He rushed for a season high 161 yards at Navy that season and rushed for 122 yards on 19 carries at Nebraska before leaving the game with the injury.
A 2009 All-MAC Second Team selection, Lewis ranks third in Ball State history with 3,334 career rushing yards. His 30 career rushing touchdowns ties for third in Ball State's record books, while his 15 100-yard rushing games ties for second all-time in Cardinals' history. Lewis has 643 career rushing attempts, which ranks sixth in the school's record books.
Lewis, who was on the 2009 Doak Walker Award and Walter Camp Award Watch Lists, rushed for a school record 301 yards last fall at Eastern Michigan. In 2008, Lewis earned All-MAC First Team honors after rushing for a Ball State single-season record of 1,736 yards.
