MUNCIE, Ind. – Local Ball State football fans – and Cardinals fans at-large - will have a great opportunity to meet members of the 2014 Ball State football team during the lunch hour on Tuesday as the Cardinals attempt to Paint the Town Red presented by Mutual Bank.
In a redesigned format this year, Ball State’s football team will spread out between three locations from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5. In conjunction with Downtown Muncie Development, the Cardinals can be found at Canan Commons in downtown Muncie, while Visit Muncie helps sponsor the event at the southside Walmart at 1501 E. 29th Street. Ball State football players will also visit the Yorktown business district and sports complex.
At both the Canan Commons and southside Walmart events, fans can expect free hot dogs, chips and Pepsi, while supplies last, plus music. WLBC-FM will have a live-action broadcast from Canan Commons, and one of the Woof Boom sister stations to WLBC will be live at the southside Walmart.
New to this year’s lineup at both the downtown and south side events is a kids’ poster design contest. All children that attend are welcome to make a Ball State football poster. The winning artist will receive a Ball State Cardinals prize pack and both posters will be displayed inside the Fisher Football Complex on Ball State’s campus.
Cardinals players will be available to distribute posters as well as sign autographs and pose for pictures. Head coach Pete Lembo will be at the Canan Commons event beginning at noon and will arrive at the southside Walmart event around 1 p.m.
Ball State fans should also save the date for two more opportunities to meet members of this year’s football team. From 7-8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, Ball State’s football team will be at Tuhey Pool, and the annual fan favorite event Fan Jam is set for 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16 at Scheumann Stadium.
The Cardinals kick off the 2014 season at 2 p.m. on Aug. 30 versus Colgate at Scheumann Stadium. Ball State – the only team in the nation to increase its win total in each of the last four seasons – plays six games at Scheumann Stadium in 2014, including five on Saturdays. Season tickets, multi-game flex packages and single-game tickets are all on sale now. The Cardinals are proud to offer the best value in college football as season ticket prices begin at less than $8 per game. For more information on pricing plans, visit BallStateSports.com/Tickets.
