MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State assistant soccer coach Marcie Klebanow has been selected for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's 30 Under 30 program.

Klebanow, entering her third season with the Ball State program, was one of more than 600 nominees. In the end, 15 women and 15 men under the age of 30 were chosen.

“I am honored to have been selected as a member of the NSCAA’s 30 under 30 program for the 2014-15 year," Klebanow said. "This opportunity will allow me to further develop my leadership abilities and use the knowledge I gain to give back to our players. I am looking forward to the experience and the impact it will have within the Ball State soccer program.”

The 30 Under 30 program, in its second year of existence, is a year-long education and mentorship opportunity for a select few up-and-comers who have made soccer coaching their career of choice.

The selected coaches, who come from all levels of the sport, receive numerous benefits. They are granted a scholarship to attend two NSCAA educational events, including the organization's annual convention. They also benefit from networking opportunities and access to mentors dedicated to their growth as coaches.

Klebanow, who works directly with the goalkeepers at Ball State, helped the Cardinals rank among the top 50 in the country in both save percentage (20th) and goals against average (47th) last year. Ball State finished the season at 11-7-4, marking its highest win total in six years, and reached the Mid-American Conference Tournament championship game for the first time.

Klebanow also has international coaching experience. Last summer, the Cleveland native coached the United States Girls' Junior National Team to the gold medal at the Maccabiah Games in Israel.
