MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State women's golfers Jenna Hague and Sarah Westaway were selected to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team announced Wednesday by the league office.

The Cardinals were one of four schools to place a pair of golfers on the list, which is voted on by the league's faculty athletics representatives. Additionally, Karley Dobis and Mary Welch earned honorable mention recognition.

Hague, a two-time MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week this season, owns a 3.651 GPA in finance. The junior from Burlington, Ontario, earned Academic All-MAC honors for the second year in a row. She won two tournaments this season, posted nine top-10 finishes and broke the school record with a 74.34 stroke average. She was named All-MAC for the third straight year and became the second women's golfer in school history selected for an NCAA Regional.

Westaway, the MAC Sportswoman of the Year for women's golf, graduated this spring with a 3.73 GPA in school health education. She was an honorable mention Academic All-MAC selection a season ago. The product of St. Thomas, Ontario, posted four top-20 finishes on the year, including a pair of top-10s, to go along with a 79.10 stroke average.

Welch also wrapped up her collegiate career this spring with a 3.409 GPA as a general studies major. Dobis completed her sophomore year with a 3.798 GPA in telecommunications.

The Academic All-MAC honor recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics. In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for the particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
