Baseball All-Access: Kyle at the Bat
RELATED LINKS

Kyle Raleigh was recruited to Ball State as a left-handed pitcher and only a lefty pitcher.   After all, a six-foot-five lefty throwing in the high eighties is bound to turn some heads.  But Raleigh never found a groove on the Ball Diamond mound, so he's making a much different kind of impact this spring.

Knowing his team would have a young offense in 2014, head coach Rich Maloney went searching for a veteran bat.  Maloney asked if there was anybody on the team that could hit whom he was unaware of.  That led to Raleigh showing his coach a video of himself hitting in a summer league game.  The Cardinal's coach was impressed enough to give the pitcher a shot in fall ball...and that's just the start of it.

Raleigh is now hitting almost .380 in the last month with four homeruns.  He blasted a three-run homer against Kent State in the series opener on Friday.  To watch the entire rollercoaster of Raleigh's most successful senior season, click above to enter Ball State All-Access.
