Soccer Finishes Spring Campaign Unbeaten

MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State soccer team closed out an unbeaten spring schedule Thursday with a 1-1 draw against Taylor at the Briner Sports Complex.

Nicole Pembleton scored the goal for the Cardinals, which wrapped up their spring slate with a record of 7-0-1. It is the second straight spring Ball State has not lost a game.

“The girls played well and I am delighted with the overall progress we made this spring,” Ball State head coach Craig Roberts said. “Taylor played well today. We ran a few different combinations of players to see what we could do, and we got some good things out of it.

“I would have liked to see us capitalize on some more of our chances today, but looking at the big picture, I am confident in the strides we made this spring.”

The Cardinals now turn their attention toward their traditional season in the fall. Last year, the team reached the championship game of the Mid-American Conference Tournament for the first time ever and finished with an 11-7-4 record for the program’s most wins since 2007.
