MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team continues Mid-American Conference action on the road when it travels to Toledo Friday and Eastern Michigan Saturday, with both matches starting a 1 p.m.

Ball State will face the Rockets in its first match, playing three doubles and six singles matches.  The Cardinals won their lone meeting over Toledo in 2013 in Muncie, Ind., by a score of 6-1 and would then suffer a 5-2 loss to Eastern Michigan the next day at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.

The Cardinals enter the weekend with a 13-7 overall record and 3-1 MAC mark, while Toledo holds a 12-5 dual mark and a 3-2 league ledger.  Eastern Michigan enters the contest with a perfect 5-0 conference record and a 12-6 overall mark.  EMU has a 27-6 edge all-time over the Cardinals.  Toledo also leads the series record over Ball State, 18-17.

The Cardinals are coming off of MAC sweeps at Akron and Buffalo last weekend.  For their efforts, Ball State junior singles player Courtney Wild along with the doubles tandem of sophomores Courtney Earnest and Bethany Moore swept the MAC Singles and Doubles Player of the Week honors.

A three-time career MAC Singles Player of the Week, Wild opened league action Friday with a 6-2, 6-4 win over the Zips Olga Shkundina on court one to help Ball State beat Akron by a score of 6-1. Wild then helped the Cardinals clinch the win Saturday at Buffalo by picking up a pivotal victory at No. 2 singles. Wild now owns a 10-5 dual mark while improving to 3-1 in the MAC.

Earnest and Moore went 2-0 over the weekend in doubles action at the No 1 position.  The twosome earned an 8-5 victory over Olga Shkundina and Ksenia Berestetska, helping the Cardinals to their win over Akron last Friday.  The twosome then took down Tanvi Shah and Miranda Podlas at Buffalo by a score of 8-4 to clinch the doubles point for the Cardinals and help them beat the Bulls, 4-3.  With their doubles sweep over the weekend, the duo now owns an overall record of 8-3 along with a 3-1 MAC ledger.

The Ball State women's tennis team will close its Mid-American Conference regular season next weekend when it host Bowling Green (April 18) and Western Michigan (April 19) at 1 p.m. in the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.
