SL TV: Snead The Fourth

MUNCIE, Ind. -- The name Willie Snead doesn’t just represent the man wearing the Cardinal and White.

Willie Snead represents a past, a history and a legacy.

Snead’s football passion began way before he started making sensational plays for the Cardinals.  It actually began long before he knew what a route was.

“Probably when I was four years old,” Snead recalls. “My dad was heavily into the game.  I knew football was what I would grow up to do and what I would put everything into.”

Ball State Sports Link’s Luke Martin, Chris Kosinski and Brad Dailey have this in-depth look at Snead in the SL exclusive, “Snead the Fourth.”

This season, Snead managed 97 catches for 1,429 yards with 14 receiving touchdowns on the season, while starting all 12 games.  He ranks fourth in the nation in receiving yards, receiving yards per game (119.1) and receiving touchdowns while ranking eighth in the latest NCAA statistics in receptions per game with an 8.1 average.

Snead broke the Ball State record for single-season receiving yards and his 2013 total ranks sixth on the all-time MAC charts.  His 97 catches rank third in a single season in Ball State history, while his 14 TD catches set a new Ball State standard.  Snead was named to the All-MAC First Team for a second straight season.
