SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A pair of Ball State men's golfers posted top-20 finishes at the Indiana Amateur Championship, which concluded Thursday at South Bend Country Club.
Rising junior McCormick Clouser of Bluffton, Ind., closed the event in 13th place with a 72-hole total of 8-over par 292. Clouser's 66 in Tuesday's second round was the lowest round by any player all week at the tournament.
Sophomore-to-be Tyler Ostrom from Warsaw, Ind., finished two shots behind Clouser in a tie for 16th at 10-over 294 on the par-71 layout.
Two incoming Ball State freshmen also made the cut at this week's state amateur. Keegan McKinney from Avon, Ind., tied for 33rd, while Quentyn Carpenter from Bourbon, Ind., placed 56th.
Purdue golfer Adam Schenk won the tournament with a 5-under par total of 279.
