Ball State Men's Swimming & Diving Awards and Honors
The rich tradition of the Ball State men's swimming & diving program began in 1941 when it officially became a varsity sport at BSU. Since then, almost 500 student-athletes have earned letters for the program which enters the 2010-11 campaign with a 329-219-3 overall record.
Dave Keener is one of the most decorated student-athletes to ever graduate from the program, earning NCAA All-America honors after placing eighth on the 1-meter diving board at the 1994 NCAA Championships. Keener also earned NCAA All-American Honorable Mention accolades three times, on the 1-meter board in 1993 and on the 3-meter board in 1993 and 1994. Keener, who is one of only two divers in Mid-American Conference history to capture four league titles on the 1-meter board, was also a three-time College Swimming Coaches of America All-America Honorable Mention.
In addition to the NCAA All-America awards, the Cardinals have won 39 Mid-American Conference individual titles and six MAC relay championships since the 1978-79 season.
