What's On Tap:  Ball State is looking to snap a two-game losing streak after suffering a 64-52 loss at Akron Saturday evening in Rhodes Arena.  The Cardinals will face Eastern Michigan for their second time this season Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Worthen Arena.  Ball State won its first meeting against Eastern Michigan 56-41 in Ypsilantil, Feb. 3.  The Cardinals are ranked fourth in the Mid-American Conference with an overall record of 11-13 and an 8-3 mark in league action.  Eastern Michigan currently holds an eighth place ranking in the MAC with an overall record of 6-18 and a 4-7 league record.  The Eagles are coming off of a 79-63 loss at home to Buffalo.

About Eastern Michigan:  Eastern Michigan has lost to Akron (82-81) Feb. 6 and Buffalo (79-63) Feb. 16 while beating Ohio (64-57) Feb. 9 after losing to the Cardinals (56-41) Feb. 3.  The Eagles have four players averaging double figures; Miranda Tate (12.9), Olivia Fouty (10.7), Natachia Watkins (10.1) and Bianca Cage (10.0).  Fouty also leads the Eagles defensively with 8.3 rebounds per contest.  Eastern Michigan currently leads the league in steals (11.3) and ranks third in offensive rebounds (13.7) in Mid-American Conference games only.  EMU's Desyree Thomas ranks third in the MAC in assists (4.5).

The Coaches: Ball State head coach Brady Sallee is in his first season at Ball State.   Sallee's career coaching record is 147-122 and he is 11-13 overall and 8-3 in the MAC with the Cardinals.  He was named the 11th head women's basketball coach in Ball State history May 10.  During his tenure at Eastern Illinois, Sallee posted a 136-109 career record.  He led the Panthers to the institution's first-ever Ohio Valley Conference title during the 2009-10 campaign. In 2011-12, Eastern Illinois was 22-9 overall, posted a 13-3 OVC mark and competed in the Women's National Invitation Tournament.  Tory Verdi was named the head women's basketball coach at Eastern Michigan, April 26, 2012, after spending the previous two seasons as an assistant women's basketball coach at Kansas. In 2011-12, Kansas posted a 21-13 overall record and an 8-10 league mark to finish tied for sixth place in the Big 12 Conference. The Jayhawks were awarded an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and then surprised the hoops world with wins in the first and second rounds to advance to the team's first NCAA "Sweet 16" since 1998.  Verdi owns a 6-18 overall record and a 4-7 league mark.
