Mickey Hosier completed his third season on head coach Billy Taylor's staff and his second season as the director of basketball operations in 2012-13. He spent the 2010-11 season as the Cardinals' video coordinator and helped Ball State post a 19-13 record that year.

Hosier, a native of Alexandria, Ind., was a four-year letterwinner for the Cardinals and helped Ball State to a 59-29 record during his three years as a starter. Hosier was part of Ball State's 1998 Mid-American Conference West Division title team that played in the NIT and the Cardinals' 2000 MAC Tournament championship team that played in the NCAA tournament.

As a senior in 1999-2000, Hosier averaged 30.9 minutes per game while handing out 3.5 assists and notching 1.8 steals per contest.

After his playing career, Hosier moved into the coaching ranks and held high school varsity positions at Wes-Del, Lakeview Christian and Alexandria High Schools in East Central Indiana. As a high school player, Hosier excelled in East Central Indiana as he was a four-year starter at Alexandria-Monroe High School. He led his school to a 74-19 record during his career and finished with 777 career assists. He earned Indiana All-Star accolades as a senior.

Hosier, who earned his bachelor's degree in elementary education from Ball State in 2000, has also previously taught in the elementary education department.

He and his wife Amanda have two sons, M.J. (11) and Maxwell (born in May 2012), and three daughters -- Gracyn (10), Gabrianna (8) and Jacklynn (6).
